Activities and passtimes at Bear River Beach
  • Swimming in the warm waters of the gulf, on the beach within view of your deck!
  • Walking on the cliff top trail or along the rocks to neighboring beaches.
  • Bike riding freely around the scenic north shore.
  • Canoeing and trout fishing in the Bear River estuary - boat provided.
  • Berry picking, particularly blueberries and cranberries.
  • Bird watching, enjoy the variety of wildlife inhabiting the estuary.
  • Beach fires, comb the beach for driftwood and enjoy the fabulous starry nights.

  • Town of Souris - center for shopping, restaurants, amenities, and health care (medical, dental and veterinary clinics). The tourist information center also located here.
  • Local fishing village of Naufrage (get there early to purchase fish from the fisherman as they return from the sea).
  • Provincial Parks of Greenwich Dunes and Basin Head Beach.
  • Championship golf courses - The Links at Crowbush, Dundarave, and Brudenell.
  • Confederation bike trail at St. Peters Bay.
  • Horseback riding at several locations.
  • Deep-sea fishing out of North Lake and Naufrage.
  • Lighthouse tours at East Point.
  • Sunday night ceilidh in nearby Monticello.
  • Clam digging in Souris.
  • Local festivals include the Rollo Bay Fiddlers Festival and the St. Peters Wild Blueberry Festival.
